WP Admin Microblog adds a separate microblog in your WordPress backend. The plugin replaces automatically urls, supports tagging and some bbcodes and it’s possible to send a message via e-mail to other users. Now, with the new dashboard widget, you can read, respond, edit and delete messages directly. So, WP Admin Microblog is great for supporting the communication within blog teams or it’s a nice scratchpad. 😉

Translate the plugin
If you’re interested to help me to translate the plugin into other languages, then you can use the fantastic Codestyling Localization Plugin. You can also use poEdit. The usage of this tool is similar to translating WordPress with poEdit.

Got this error after activating the plugin and clicking the Micro Blog section:

Hi Daryl,
the case for this error is, that if there’s no tag in the database the request works not normal. I’ve integrated a little protection. Instead of a SQL error now it comes a normal information.

In the help section, what does this mean? „If you will send your message as an E-Mail to any user, so write @username (example: @admin)“
Is it saying that if you use @username that they will get sent an email notice? Is it just included in the body of the microblog post?

It’s saying, that if you include @username in your message, the user with this name becomes an email with the full content of your message.

„Becomes an email“ says, that if you insert @username in a message, the system send the message text to user’s email address. The plugin is using the wp_mail function for this. If WordPress can’t send messages, so it’s also unable for the plugin.

Kann man das einstellen oder kannst du das bei der neuen Version anwenden das dass:
„Bearbeiten | Löschen | Antworten“
aus dem Micorblog, wie die:
„Zurückweisen | Antworten | Bearbeiten | Spam | Papierkorb“
Optionen in der Kommentarbox, eingeblendet werden wenn sich die Maus auf dem Eintrag befindet?

Dann habe ich noch eine Frage und zwar wie kann man die Einträge von Benutzern die nicht weiter existieren entfernen, also deren Konto von WordPress aufgelöst wurde?

Vorgesehen ist es bisher nicht. (Könnte in einer kommenden Version folgen). Falls du’s dringend brauchst kannst du die Beiträge mit folgender SQL Anweisungen löschen:
„DELETE FROM wp_admin_blog_posts WHERE user = ‚x'“
x steht dabei für die WordPress User-ID des Benutzers. Falls du die nicht mehr hast, such dir einfach einen Beitrag des alten Benutzers, da steht die dann auch in der entsprechenden Spalte.

Hello I’m using WordPress 3.2.1. I need to create internal blogs for each user who registers to my site and want your blog, just install the plugin WP Admin Microblog, but I get this error:

Hi,
the plugin works only with WordPress 3.3 or higher, because the function add_help_tab() was introduced in this version. I recommend you an upgrade to WordPress 3.3, but you can also fix the plugin: Replace in wp_admin_microblog.php the lines 61-63 with the following:

Hi, wenn ich auf dem Dashboard eine angeheftete Nachricht abhefte und anschließen anheften möchte, bekomme ich folgende Fehlermeldung:
Fatal error: Class ‚wpam_mesage‘ not found in …/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin-microblog/core/widget.php on line 52
PS: Ich kann die Nachricht nur über den Microblog wieder anheften.
Benutze WP 4.2.2

Ist eigentlich für später die Einbindung eines Editors oder einfache BB-Code Unterstützung geplant?
Oder eine Farbauswahl (Pastelfarben) für den Hintergrund der Beträge um eine bessere Zuordnung zum Verfasser und Übersicht zu verschaffen?

Einen kompletten Editor wollte ich eher nicht einbauen, BB-Codes sind schon einige verfügbar, und zwar diese: [b]bold[/b], [i]italic[/i], [u]underline[/u], [s]strikethrough[/s], [red]red[/red], [blue]blue[/blue], [green]green[/green], [orange]orange[/orange], [sup]superscript[/sup], [sub]subscript[sub]. Hier fehlen eigentlich nur noch Listen. Zusätzlich dachte ich dann noch an Bilder-Einbettungen und evtl. Emoticons…
Eigentlich sind zur Unterscheidung der Autoren die Avatare da – wenn du die nicht über gravatar laufen lassen willst, dann schau dir mal WP-User-Avatar an. Farbliche Abgrenzungen werden eher schwierig.

OK hab ein Test mit den BB-Codes gemacht sieht besser aus nur das abtippen der Codes wird auf dauer lästig. Bilder einbetten und Emoticons wären natürlich super! Avatar hochgeladen und über screen.php etwas vergrößert, jetzt sieht´s fein aus. Danke für den Tipp! 🙂
